“Be strong then,
And enter into your body,
There you have a solid place for your feet. Think about it carefully.
Don’t go off somewhere else…
Stand firm in that which you are”, (Kabir).
We learn the importance of our foundations… our connection to the earth, the way we use our feet to develop a sense of physical stability, symmetry and a proprioception. Find integrity in each pose.
We explore our breath; “For breath is life…Life is breath so if you breath well you will live long on earth”, (Sanskrit Proverb).
Breath may seem like something we do not need to give thought to, however in discovering Pranayama; awareness of the breath, and understanding your natural habits, you will find the ability to calm, settle and focus your mind, enhance your concentration, support you through stressful situations and improve the overall quality of your natural breath.
Come to be inspired, create and nurture your own Yoga practice and find the confidence to develop and evolve a personal practice of your own. Find your Flow of energy with reverence to yourself, observing the Philosophical teachings of Ahimsa; compassion and Asteya; restrain, learning to accept and acknowledge your body's limitations, have patience and grow.
“The rhythm of the body…the melody of the mind and the harmony of the soul to create the symphony of life”, (B.K.S Iyengar).
Be thoughtful in your practice and be free in your mind...Open your breath and see what comes.
I am a deeply committed teacher, in personal practice for over 30 years, I came to Yoga in Pregnancy, and from my first Cat/Cow was totally captivated by the ancient practice.
My passion born from Pregnancy Yoga explored the dynamics of Ashtanga to the disciplines of Iyengar through the journey of Vinyasa. After years of personal exploration I undertook Triyoga’s Yoga Teacher Training in London in 2011. Studying under the attentativeness and precision of Teaching and exploration of the Practice from my early mentors Jean Hall, Catherine Annis and Kate Ellis.
Discovering the intuitiveness of Scaravelli, I continued studies further specialising in Restorative Yoga with Anna Ashby, and Intelligent Embodied Relational 1;1 teachings of Kate Ellis and more recently the graceful influences of Qigong with Mathew Cohen and Mimi Kuo-Deemer.
I teach all levels, abilities, ages, a non-competitive, deeply mindful intelligent and alignment focused practice. I incorporate the essentials of self-awareness that distinguishes Yoga from an exercise class, to help bring about a deep tissue release and flexibility to the physical body, weaving in ancient philosophical and scriptural elements yoking mind subtle body..natural organic breath.
With deepest gratitude, Namaste to Jean Hall, Catherine Annis, Anna Ashby, Kate Ellis, Mary Mackie, Jeff Phenix, Mimi Kuo-Deemer, Nikki Slade, Sifu Mathew Cohen, Patrick Griffith, Carlos Pomeda.
